What AI companions are
An AI companion is an artificial intelligence that carries a human conversation over time: it remembers who you are, your preferences and what you said to each other, and adapts its tone to the way you write. It is openly an AI, not a person. Insieme.AI offers 6 of them, with different skills and characters.
European alternative to Replika
Replika is not available in Italy: the Italian data protection authority blocked the processing of Italian users' data in February 2023, the block has never been lifted and in April 2025 a 5 million euro fine followed. Insieme.AI is built in Europe, on European servers. Its companions offer affectionate presence and friendship, with stated boundaries.

How to connect WhatsApp or Telegram
You connect once, right after signing up, and it takes a couple of minutes. The site generates a 6-character code, valid for 15 minutes, and puts it straight into the message for the companion you chose. You send it from WhatsApp or Telegram and from then on you write from the app. On the site you can reread your history.
Create the account. On insieme.ai/register choose "Continue with Google" or enter name, email and password. If you use email, you get a confirmation link: open it to activate the account.
Choose the companion. On your first login a guided setup asks "Who do you want by your side?". Pick one of the 6; you can change it whenever you like.
Open the chat. On your phone tap "Open WhatsApp" or "Open Telegram": the companion's chat opens with the code ready. On a computer, scan the QR code on the screen with your phone.
Send the code. On WhatsApp send the message as it is. On Telegram tap "Start" at the bottom of the chat.
Write. When the site confirms the connection, the companion replies in the chat. From then on you write or send a voice message, like to a contact in your address book.
If something goes wrong
The confirmation email doesn't arrive. Check your spam folder. If the link has expired, you can ask for a new one from the page that opens when you tap it.
The chat doesn't open, or the QR code doesn't work. Further down there's the "QR code not working?" box (on a phone "Nothing opens?"): copy the code and send it as a message in the companion's chat.
The code has expired. It lasts 15 minutes: tap "New code" and repeat step 3.
The site says "We don't see your message yet". Check that the message went out and that it's in the right chat: every companion has its own WhatsApp number and its own Telegram bot (for example @Sara_InsiemeAI_bot). On Telegram, check that you tapped "Start".
You chose "I'll do it later". In your area open Settings, Devices section, and press "Connect".
The connection is done but the companion doesn't reply. Write to support@insieme.ai.
